This summer I have to admit I'm guilty of not doing much at all art-wise. I wish I had an exciting excuse, like perhaps I've been roaming around Barcelona or going on adventures in deserts... but nope, I've just been working 5-6 days a week all sorts of crazy hours (hello night shifts) and it seems like my creative side has forgotten how to function!
But next week I'm having some much needed time off and going away to a folk festival, which last year gave me so much inspiration for my practice. Just being in a completely different environment for a week helps me massively; new sights, new people, new stories and memories.
When I get back I also just have to visit this museum in scotland: http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2011/jul/26/national-museum-scotland-renovation
It looks like such an inspirational place, and I definitely need all the inspiration I can get!
I absolutely cannot wait to get back to university, get into that woodwork studio and begin making things again. In the mean time, I've found two new sketchbooks that I'm going to start filling with all the ideas I've got for my next project.
